Maintenance Technician


Description
The Maintenance Technician coordinates facilities maintenance and collaborates with all other departmental personnel on special projects to preserve the good condition and functionality of the property. The Maintenance Technician is thorough, with a practical mind and attention to detail. The ideal candidate will be able to work autonomously and responsibly while observing all health and safety guidelines. In addition, this person must also be prepared to respond to any emergency situation as necessary.

Hours: Part Time & On Call (Average 16-20 hours)
Pay: $20 per hour

Responsibilities:
• Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
• Conduct quarterly preventative maintenance on all mechanical and electrical equipment.
• Help maintain clear paths and egress for all fire exists in compliance with local regulations
• Coordinate annual inspections and maintenance of all fire extinguishers
• Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection) and schedule repairs when needed
• Facilitate the repair of any damaged tables and or chairs
• Perform maintenance of electrical systems and fixtures (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels and lamp fixtures etc.)
• Assist in the setup of tap lines, refrigeration and other systems and conduct or schedule repairs as necessary
• Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
• Perform manual repairs when necessary (fix locks, door handles, replace windows etc.)
• Undertake activities of pest control on property
• Conduct general upkeep procedures (e.g. landscaping) and other tasks as assigned (painting, carpentry etc.)
• Ensure all budgetary restrictions for parts ordering are followed
• Assist winery department in the outfitting, cleaning and maintenance of off-site wine barrel storage
• Clean and organize receiving areas and loading dock

Requirements:
• Proven experience as maintenance technician
• Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic and other systems
• Knowledge of general maintenance processes and methods
• Working knowledge of tools, common appliances and devices
• Manual dexterity and problem-solving skills
• Good physical condition and strength
• High school diploma or equivalent; Certificate in HVAC, building maintenance technology or relevant field will be a plus
