Description

The Maitre’ D reports to the General Manager. A Maitre’D is a key figure for ensuring our guests have the best possible experience and does so by managing guest and team flow in the front of house, handling immediate guest concerns, assisting with operating the dining room and ensuring that the team provides impeccable service at all times.

Management of Host Team

  • Hiring, on-boarding, training, and scheduling of the host team.

  • On-going supervision and training of host team, to ensure the highest level of hospitality is maintained.

  • On-going supervision to ensure the criteria set by the Secret Shopper report is adhered to by the host team.

In-Venue Presence 

  • Responsible for the entire guest experience prior to being seated.

  • Greeting at the front door, greeting by host team, communication between host and guest in regards to seating/waiting, and walking guests to their table and introducing the menu.

  • Coordinating the management team to address any potential seating issues that may arise throughout the evening.

  • Ensuring that the management and culinary team are aware of any VIPs in house, along with guests celebrating special occasions. 

Reservation Management 

  • Auditing all reservations prior to service, ensuring all reservations are plotted correctly and that any crucial information is communicated to the management team.

  • Auditing reservations weeks/months in advance to identify any potential issues or opportunities.

  • Weekly reporting on reservation summary and trends. 

BEO / Event Point of Contact 

  •  This role will act as the point of contact for all BEO’s booked, to ensure all their needs are met and address any concerns/issues.

  • Constant communication with the Events Manager on all upcoming BEO’s / Events.

  • Ensuring that the management and culinary team are aware/prepared for any upcoming BEO’s / Events. 

Specific job knowledge and Skills 

  • Deliver a consistently high level of customer service to each guest and client

  • Maintain a safe and clean working environment by complying with health and safety guidelines

  • Proactive and anticipate the needs of coworkers around them that may need additional beverages or assistance

  • Ability to have extensive knowledge on how to make all of the beverages we offer on the menu and the mastery of the food menu in order to guide guests towards choices that are best for them

  • Mechanical in execution uses organized steps of service to ensure order accuracy and consistency even in the busiest of times

  • Ensuring that your station is stock and prepped as needed for business demand

  • Build rapport with guests in order to increase repeat clientele

  • Exhibit strong multitasking abilities

  • Posses a diligent work ethic

  • Maintain a clean and professional appearance

  • Display the ability to forecast and anticipate the needs of our guests and the restaurant

  • A minimum of 2 years experience in a Full Service Fine Dining Experience

  • Available to work nights, weekends and holidays

Physical Abilities

  • Move, lift, carry, push, pull, and place objects weighing less than or equal to 45 pounds without assistance.
  • Requires grasping, writing, standing, sitting, walking, repetitive motions, bending, climbing, listening and hearing ability and visual acuity.
  • Stand, sit, or walk for an extended period of time or for an entire work shift.
  • Reach overhead and below the knees, including bending, twisting, pulling, and stooping.
